This afternoon I had the opportunity to attend the All About Baby Charlotte event at the Hampton Inn & Suites, in the Southpark area. It was a lot of fun and donations benefited Bright Blessings who help provide support and resources for homeless families and babies born into homelessness. I learned about local resources that support moms and their little ones in the Charlotte area. Below I’ve outlined all of the resources I met with and the hyperlinks to their websites. Everyone was super nice and I look forward using some of these in the future. (Note: I wasn’t paid for any of this so feel free to take it or leave it…hehehe)
Parent Financial – Court Creeden
My family actually uses this family financial planning service and could not recommend them higher. Court and Susan are great to work with! You can contact and meet them anytime, however I suggest you meet them in person at the Stroller Roller 5K benefitting Levine Children’s Hospital on October 19th. Event info and registration is here. Madison will also be there (value add)!
Ivy’s Diaper Service – Jessika Zimmer
Jessika is truly a sweet person who I first got to meet at The Baby Grocery Store during a cloth diapering class. She helps run Ivy’s Diaper Service. They offer compostable and cloth diapers/wies to the Charlotte area. If cloth diapering is the right decision for your family, I highly suggest checking out Ivy’s.
Did you know “formal swim lessons reduce the risk of drowning by 88%?” Charlotte Aquatics offers swim lessons for all ages (6 months – Adult).
Pickles & Ice Cream Maternity Apparel
If you’re looking for cute maternity apparel then look no further! I’m also pretty sure that they told me today that they are adding some lactation apparel for moms that breastfeed.
JL Photography – Jamie Lea
The photos on display by Jamie Lea were beautiful! She photographs weddings, maternity, children and family. If you’re looking for a photographer I would check out her work and get a consultation.
The Queen City Buzz
Have you ever wondered what family friendly events are happening in and around the Charlotte area? Well, The Queen City Buzz is your one stop shop. I’d also encourage you to reach out to Emily if you’re hosting a family friendly event.
Palmetto Childproofing, Inc.
Palmetto Childproofing will come to your home and do a review of your childproofing needs, provide the materials and install them for you. What more could you ask for???
I got to try one of these Milkin’ Cookies and it was so good! “Created by two physician moms to support their own breasteeding goals…” Made with wholesome ingredients that are good for the whole family!
Carolina Lactation Services – Nicole Waters, BA, IBCLC
Nicole was fun to talk to today. She is a lactation consultant that provides support to moms around Charlotte. She has an office but also offers in-home meetings which can be very convenient.
Green I Am
Penny is your resource for how to get the toxic chemicals out of your home. Penny was such a pleasure to talk to today and her story about why she went down the greener path was touching. If you want some tips and tricks to get the toxic cleaners out of your home feel free to reach out to her.
Little Hands in Motion – Jennifer Ortiz (ASL Instructor & Owner)
If you and your little one are eager to start communicating before they start forming their first words then sign language may be for you. Contact Jennifer to learn more!
Face and Body Painting by Weezy J.
Gender reveals, belly painting, face painting for birthday parties, etc. Weezy Jones is very talented! This looked like a lot of fun if you want some unique ways to express yourself.
Music Discovery Class – Sarah Stephens
If you’re looking for your baby to grow to the beat of the music then Sarah may be the person for you. Classes are available for birth – 4 years old in downtown Charlotte, Blakney, and Fort Mill, SC.
Zitel Family Chiropractic
I personally had never heard of chiropractic services for babies, but today I learned that adjustments on babies can help with colic, reflux, etc. I’m sure there are many more benefits that I’m not listing here, but if you need chiropractic work for yourself or your baby you may want to contact Dr. Jeff Zitel.
Massage can be so helpful for mommies before and after delivery and baby massage is so soothing and helpful to new babies. Sarah Harris Counts is the owner of Body Prose. Contact her if you need a good massage!
“Fancy, Fresh & Fun Neccessories” is their tagline and it’s so true! From binkers to bibs and burp cloths. Their stuff is too cute! I loved the Happy Knees for crawlers and early walkers. Our home has hardwood floors in every room so I feel like Madison will be sporting these soon. 😉
Charlotte Parent has deemed these stylish and cushioned car seat handle covers a top gift for moms-to-be. They also have new Strapletz in stock for the car seat straps. Check them out!
The Baby Grocery Store
The one stop shop to get natural foods and supplies for families. You can also get The Honest Company products here…good to know!!
Several other vendors were in attendance that I didn’t spend much time with or take their pamphlets because I’ve already got my little bundle of joy. So many vendors that support our local community! Check them out and look for more. I would also recommend looking for the next event like this and attending!
